COOKE 2nds 35 BALLYNAHINCH 4ths 3
Cooke returned to winning ways with a home league victory over Ballynahinch. In perfect conditions for rugby the game was evenly contested for the 1st few minutes and the away team took the lead with a penalty in the 7th minute. Cooke responded strongly and squandered a number of scoring chances before Jarvis equalised with a penalty. The home side continued to press and the line was eventually breached 5 minutes before half time when Bennett touched down. Jarvis converted and did so again 4 minutes later following a try by McMurry. That left the score 17-3 at the break.
In the 47th minute Jarvis increased the lead with a penalty. 5 minutes later & 3rds star McClure scored a fine try in the corner. Jarvis missed the conversion from the touchline but shortly afterwards he added a try of his own which he did convert. With Ballynahinch down to 13 players and well beaten the referee blew up 10 minutes early following another Jarvis penalty. |
